All hotels are pretty much the same right? Wrong.

Sure, the Radisson Blu in Berlin, Germany has it all, but also so much more.

For those who have ever been to Berlin, or ever tried to Google it for that matter, you've no doubt seen 3 things. The Brandenburg Gate, a huge stein of beer and a picture of the Radisson Blu Berlin lobby.

I have no idea who's genius plan it was to build one of the biggest fish tanks in the world inside the lobby of the hotel, but we sure thank them for it because it completely transforms the way you experience a hotel, whether you are staying for a week or just meeting friends for a drink.

For anyone familiar with our travels, you'll know we have a love affair with Radisson Blu hotels, and the Berlin location is one we have been wanting to visit forever.

Luckily this last November, we got the chance to visit Germany during the holiday season and finally were able to explore all the Best Christmas Markets in Berlin to the fullest - something we have dreamed about for years!

We immediately booked a room at the Radisson Blu Berlin the second we confirmed the trip, having walked by it some many times on previous trips and knowing it was smack dab in the middle of the city. Located just next to the Alexanderplatz train station, main museums and just steps from the Brandenburg Gate, we easily explored the entire city for days from on foot without ever stepping in a taxi.

Radisson Blu Berlin provides some basic amenities that you would imagine any hotel worth its weight in gold would, however, few do. Their brand wide "super breakfast" is reason enough to stay, as we easily filled up on enough fuel to last us until dinner (or happy hour...). One of the most impressive breakfast spreads available, and different from country to country, it is reason enough to return.

A hotel room is just a room with a bed and a toilet right? Wrong. Radisson takes the basic room to a whole new level and not only matches the comfort from home but makes your favorite bed in your childhood room look like a sleeping bag in a cave. The only problem with the beds is that they are almost impossible to pry yourself out of, which is terrible when you have a lot to explore.

And one more thing... free, immediate, log in free, fast wifi all over the hotel. No annoying sign up screens, no need to re-sign in each time your phone locks, no nonsense.

So, amazing free breakfast, incredibly comfy beds, fast free internet - what else could you dream of. We don't always stay at a Radisson Blu when we travel... scratch that, we do.
