Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel Review

We've already told you our 4 reasons Norway is the greatest country on Earth, but no trip is complete without the perfect place to stay.

For anyone who reads this blog you'll know we love Radisson Blu, and the Radisson Blu Scandinavia in Oslo was no exception.

Located right in the center of town, we jumped almost straight from our late night plane right onto the shuttle and were at their door in no time, and as soon as we walked into the lobby we knew we were home.

The hands down biggest problem with accommodation is that nowhere feels like home, which is why the first thing we do in any city is look for the Radisson Blu logo, because we know exactly what to expect and know we'll feel like we're being pampered by our great aunt Barbara (but with better food) in no time.

Located right smack dab in the middle of the city, we slept off our jet lag and were up early to explore after destroying their amazing nordic themed Super Breakfast - something every Radisson Blu location has, all with their own regional twist.

Coming from Dubai and being in July, the mix on readily available bacon, a cool summer breeze and more greenery than we could handle almost had us in tears of joy, but we happily remained upright and spent an entire 24 hours exploring the city on foot - not once stepping up in a cab, as usually is our style as we try to stay healthy on the road.

The hotel staff was incredibly helpful in not just handing us the typical tourist map and wishing us luck, but actually took the time to help us plot out the best route on foot for us, taking into account her recommendations on what other visitors have liked most, as well as what we seemed the most interested in seeing. Not pushy, not annoying, just perfectly helpful.

We even went to the gift shop and the lovely woman working there helped us pick out a couple magnets from Oslo that are still in our fridge.

Our room was incredible and we commented that we'd pay the designer to decorate our future home. When it comes to hotels, it is the little things that make the biggest difference. Plugs on both sides of the bed, complimentary adapters, beds more comfortable than your own, killer shower head and silence - all of which we had in spades.

Along with the more than well equipped gym and the stunning city wide views from the Summit Bar on the 21st floor, we would move into the darn hotel if we had half the chance.

Conveniently located, staff that feels like family, delicious breakfast, beds you could die in and fast, free wifi, all for under 100 bucks, what more could you want in a hotel? We couldn't think of anything.
