Hotel Review: Radisson Blu Resort Fujairah

Dubai is one of the, of not the best, place in the world to be based if you want to have the most travel choices close to you.

With over two thirds of the world's population living within an 8 hour flight of the UAE there are endless exotic options, but there are also a ton of weekend road trips from Dubai.

Whenever we catch wind of a three day weekend coming up we are immediately on Skyscanner looking at flights to far flung places like Sri Lanka and Zanzibar, but we often end up picking to explore the UAE - which we never regret.

Fujairah doesn't have the glitz or glamour of Dubai, but what it lacks in shiny, twisting buildings, it makes up for in serenity and relaxation.

We've stayed at Radisson Blu hotels all over the world, but it wasn't until last month, when we visited the Radisson Blu Resort Fujairah, that we visited one of their resort properties - and we were happily surprised.

To be honest, resorts - especially all inclusive ones - can take a dip in quality pretty quick, but when we arrived to Fujairah we were thrilled with what we found.

Located right on a beautiful beach in Fujairah, the beach is endless and empty - exactly what you want on a weekend escape from Dubai.

We were shocked at the size of the rooms, with the always amazingly comfortable Radisson Blu trademark beds and beautiful balconies with extremely comfortable lounge chairs we could have sat on all night.

"Radisson Blu always makes us feel comfortable wherever in the world we are, and we always know to look for those Blu letters..."

We arrived late and woke up to a gorgeous blue sky day and the sight of those learning to kayak and stand up paddle board out of our window in the calm sea below, as well as the swimming pool - where we couldn't help but shoot this video...

As with every Radisson Blu stay, we wake up overly excited to run to the "Super Breakfast" which in this case, was exceptionally super. Sitting outside, over looking the massive swimming pools and beach, we sat in the sun while eating fresh fruit, delicious coffee and far too much delicious Arabic foods.

Let's be honest, there isn't much to do in Fujairah, but to be busy is not why you visit. Once you enter the walls of the resort, there is little reason to leave and everything we could imagine was at our finger tips including an amazing spa, delicious restaurants, bars, beach sports, endless swimming pools and much more.

We spent our entire weekend relaxing, eating, sleeping and swimming - what could possibly be better? Free, password free internet, all inclusive drinks passage and an empty beach, paradise.

Just a short drive from Dubai, our weekend was a much needed getaway from the craziness of the city and felt like much longer than just a couple days. Radisson Blu always makes us feel comfortable wherever in the world we are, and we always know to look for those Blu letters anywhere when we start to miss home, especially a Radisson Blu resort.
